Emerge is a professional series for women striving to be great leaders in today's organizations. Through expert-led presentations, networking, and interactive training, Emerge builds upon the strengths and talents women already possess. YWCA Bristol is thinking outside of the Tri Cites and reaching more women than ever before. Their new addition of webinars will enable women from all over the nation participate in the Emerge Women’s Series. The webinar will be live on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM EDT. With guest speaker, Lavinia Boxill, Vice President for Development at Rutgers University Foundation. The webinar is titled, Know Your Worth, Demonstrate Your Value & Build Your Negotiation Skills. During the webinar you will learn to: • Advocate for your professional advancement and hone your professional skills • Make the right connections within the organization • Read the political tea leaves • Negotiate for what is important to you professionally and personally About the Speaker Lavinia maintains her own fundraising portfolio of principal gift prospects and oversees 25 major gift officers' fundraising on the flagship Brunswick, New Jersey campus. During her 20 years with Rutgers, Lavinia spent six years in front-line fundraising in the second-largest academic unit at the university, and the past fourteen years managing and directing the growth of major gifts for the Rutgers University Foundation. As a member of the foundation's senior staff, Lavinia played an integral role in planning the university's comprehensive $1 billion campaign. Prior to joining Rutgers, Lavinia worked in development for various organizations in Washington, D.C., and in New Jersey. Lavinia holds a B.A. in political science from Drew University. Emerge is a program of YWCA Bristol, whose mission is to eliminate racism, empower women and promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.
