Northeast Tennessee Tourism Association (NETTA) is one of nine regional destination marketing organizations recognized
by the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development and the Tennessee Hospitality & Tourism Association. NETTA was
named the 2019 and 2023 Tennessee Destination Marketing Organization of the Year. We represent the eight counties of
the Northeast Tennessee area including Johnson, Sullivan, Washington, Carter, Unicoi, Greene, Hawkins, and Hancock.
NETTA includes two full-time staff with plans for growth, and a 20-person board of trustees.
What We Do
It is our mission to serve as a catalyst to enhance regional economic and community growth through promotion and
development of tourism. We are a membership based nonprofit organization, serving as a resource for small and large
businesses, cities and counties devoted to generating revenue and impact through tourism. NETTA also serves as a
legislative liaison for the area hospitality and tourism industry.

We are seeking a dynamic, creative, and analytical professional to serve as our Destination Marketing and Outreach
Manager. This role is central to elevating our brand awareness, driving visitor retention, and attracting new audiences to
Northeast Tennessee. You will champion a dual approach, leading both compelling digital marketing strategies and
building strong community relationships.
You will be a master storyteller, weaving narratives that showcase our destination's unique allure across all channels. You
will also be a data whiz, wielding analytics to measure success and guide future campaigns. This role requires a blend of
digital marketing expertise, strategic communications, community engagement, grant management, and a passion for the
region's culture and tourism industry.
Key Responsibilities
1. Marketing Strategy & Content Creation
• Develop and implement a comprehensive social media and content strategy to engage target audiences across
various platforms.
• Create compelling, high-quality content (written, visual, and video) that resonates with our target audience and
captures the essence of Northeast Tennessee and our partners.
• Manage and curate engaging content across social media channels, fostering community interaction and brand
loyalty.• Assist with content creation for the website and other marketing materials.
• Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to create and distribute targeted marketing campaigns.
2. Analytics & Reporting
• Leverage data analytics tools to track and measure the effectiveness of social media campaigns and other
marketing efforts.
• Use data insights to inform content creation, optimize performance, and guide future marketing efforts.
• Create monthly reports on campaign and account performance.
3. Grant Management & Event Coordination
• Research and identify potential grant opportunities. Write persuasive grant proposals, manage the application
process, and ensure compliance with all grant requirements and reporting deadlines.
• Plan, organize, and execute special events, workshops, and promotional tours. Coordinate with partners,
vendors, and volunteers, manage event budgets, and report on the success of these initiatives.
Qualifications
• Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree or certification in Marketing, Communications, Tourism, or a related
field (preferred). A minimum of two years of experience in destination marketing, tourism development,
communications, or a relevant field.
• Skills:
o Proven success in developing and implementing marketing campaigns.
o Strong track record of success in grant writing and public relations.
o Must be a creative storyteller with excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
o Proficiency in social media platforms and data analytics tools is required.

o Must possess a deep understanding of Northeast Tennessee's culture, tourism industry, and current

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree or certification in Tourism, Hospitality Management, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum two years of experience in tourism destination development or a relevant field.
• Proven track record of success in grant writing, communications and public relations.
• Strong understanding of the Northeast Tennessee culture, tourism industry, and current travel trends.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships and rapport with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A passion for Northeast Tennessee and destination development.

Benefits:
• Salary expectations: $47,000 - $55,000 based on experience.
