WOW Women of Worth Tri-Cities Tennessee: Less than 1/3 of the world’s businesses are owned by women.There is a tidal wave of female entrepreneurship rising, but women face incredible inequality accessing loans and capital. More than 60% of new US businesses launched since 2002 are owned by women, yet less than 3% of venture capital was invested in female founded companies, during that same period. [Sources:State of Women Owned Businesses Report, 2013; Bridging the Gender Gap in Venture Capital, 2014] WOW is about supporting female entrepreneurs and business owners and aspiring women business owners.KOSBE has created an environment for women to get together regularly, to connect with mentors and mentees, share resources and best practices, continue to learn, be creative and have fun. Light refreshments will be served. There is a $10/person donation requested for this event, with proceeds benefiting the KOSBE Women of Worth project. Bring your BFF!! We welcome women business owners and female entrepreneurs from across the Tri-Cities (including the region comprising the cities of Kingsport, Johnson City, and Bristol and the surrounding smaller towns and communities in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia).
