Healthy Kingsport has partnered with the University of Tennessee Extension to offer our community the second annual Walk Across Tennessee challenge. This involves having individuals form teams of five people who simply commit to walking a mile a day per person, or the exercise equivalent (which can be cycling, jogging, swimming, or even house cleaning). The team’s goal is to log the 585 miles it would take to walk across the state of Tennessee. The 12-week challenge runs from November 28, 2016 to February 13, 2017. Our collective community goal for Walk Across Tennessee is to have 100 teams (in support of Kingsport’s Centennial Celebration) participate and log a collective 100,000 miles. Visit www.healthykingsport.walkertracker.com to register individually or join a team. An example of how to do this is to select a team captain for you team of 5. Once you select your captain select a team name. Your team captain will then go onto WalkerTracker and register individually and select the "create a new team" opion. Once they have created the team, they can then invite the remaining 4 members to join via email.
