oin Tanasi Arts & Heritage Center as we journey through the Functional Artways of Appalachia over the next year. At the Christmas Open House, you will have the opportunity to make origami, a natural birdfeeder, and a nature-filled glass Christmas ornament. Ellen Pitts will teach attendees the many intricate steps of creating origami art from paper. Demonstrations will be taught on how to make a dove, tree, wreath, mouse, and a box with lid. All of the items can be used as Christmas tree ornaments or gift wrap decorations. All necessary supplies will be provided. Ann Wolfgran will share her gift for nature crafter by showing attendees how to create natural birdfeeders from pine cones and oranges. In addition, you’ll have the chance to create glass Christmas ornaments filled with natural elements like evergreens, moss, pine cones, and dried flowers. A burlap ribbon wrapped around the outside will add a Christmas touch and make a beautiful addition to the Christmas tree or a gift for someone else. If you need hearing, vision, or Spanish language translation assistance, please mark the appropriate selection in the registration form online. Register at www.tanasiarts.org/event-registration.
