Railroad Day is an annual event during which Natural Tunnel State Park and Norfolk Southern Railroad partner up and close down the tracks that run through the natural tunnel from 10am-3pm. During this event there will be lighting set up throughout the tunnel and interpreters present to talk about the geology and history of the formation. The Wilderness Road Blockhouse and the Carter Cabin, the oldest standing structure in Scott County, will also have historical interpreters present to discuss the history of the area. Information booths will likely be setup on the deck of the tunnel and that information will be released as the event date nears. The Cove Ridge Center Foundation and Advisory Board sponsors many of the events at Natural Tunnel State Park.
