Milligan's 8th Annual Buffalo TalesDescription
Milligan College students will share their talents and knowledge of storytelling during the 8th annual 'Buffalo Tales' on Thursday, Dec. 3, at 4 and 7 p.m. at the McGlothlin-Street Theatre in Milligan's Gregory Center for the Liberal Arts. Audiences will experience a wide range of emotions in both sessions as story genres vary from personal stories to Biblical accounts, children's stories to folk tales. At 4 p.m., nine storytelling students will perform including Mikaela Way of Johnson City, Tennessee; Lily Knot of Las Vegas, Nevada; Colin Morgan of Gray, Tennessee; Molly Organ of Kent, Ohio; Amanda Smith of Harriman, Tennessee; Abi Bethea of Eastanollee, Georgia; Medeline Frasure of Lebanon, Indiana; and Jacob Beverly and Casey Richardson of Kingsport, Tennessee. The 7 p.m. performance will feature eight tellers including Sarah Knapton of Stoughton, Wisconsin; Ashley Farmer of Elizabethton, Tennessee; Katherine Siglin of Kingsport, Tennessee; Josh Ramsaran of Johnson City, Tennessee; Brianna Florian and Amanda Florian of Waxhaw, North Carolina; and once again, Casey Richardson and Mikaela Way. "The evening is sure to provide family entertainment", said Dr. Bruce Montgomery professor of communications. "It has been a joy to work with these students and be amazed by them". 'Buffalo Tales' serves as the students' fall semester final exam and as an opportunity for the storytelling students to showcase the work they have accomplished in Dr. Montgomery's class.
