Birding Kingsport, a club formed to connect area birders with all things birds, will meet Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Toy F. Reid Eastman Employee Center, 400 S. Wilcox Drive, Kingsport, Room 221 at 7:00 p.m. Helen Sirett, President of Birding Kingsport, will present Feathers, Fashion, and the 1918 Migratory Bird Treaty Act. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the passage of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. Everyone is invited to come learn more about how a group of activists rallied against trends in early 20th century fashion to pass this piece of legislation that put an end to hunting egrets, swans, eagles, and hummingbirds. Visitors are welcome to attend the monthly meetings and membership in the club is available. For more information see birdingkingsport.org
