Overview
The Kingsport Chamber works closely with local school systems to enhance the learning environment of all students. The Kingsport Chamber's Education Department oversees TN/VA Scholars program and serves as the bridge linking the business and educational communities.

  5. Promote an atmosphere of open communication between educators, the business community and the community at large. Be an advocate for education where appropriate.

The Chamber Education Committee is actively involved in the following activities:

  • Expanding the TN/VA Scholars Program.
  • Sullivan County Imagination Library
  • Coordinating a regional job fair for 8th grade students (February of each year).
  • Continuing to improve and develop programs.
  • Organizing forums focusing on educational issues and interests of the business community and continue communication efforts.
  • Serving as advocates when appropriate on local and state issues bearing impact on education (Position Paper on Funding Education).
  • Continuing to partner with other education related organizations.
