    Kingsport Chamber & American Job Center of Northeast Tennessee to host job fair at Kingsport Farmers Market
    KINGSPORT, Tenn. – The Kingsport Chamber and the American Job Center of Northeast Tennessee are partnering together to host a job fair at the Kingsport Farmers Market on Thursday, Aug. 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
    The event is free to attend and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring copies of their resumes to hand to prospective employers, along with up-to-date contact information.
    More than 60 employers with open positions are attending the job fair, including those in the administrative, industrial, manufacturing, medical, retail, restaurant and professional categories.
    “Your Kingsport Chamber’s job fair, in partnership with the American Job Center, will bring together local businesses and our community’s skilled workforce to help businesses grow and positively impact our community and region,” said Lora Barnett, executive director of Government Relations & Workforce Development at the Kingsport Chamber.
    “We know the pandemic has had a great impact on the hiring process, as many of our regional employers and job seekers have sought to utilize what may have been previously unfamiliar method of recruitment and career development,” said Barnett. “We are proud to host this in-person event to connect job seekers with employers.”
    Those in attendance will also be placed in drawings for door prizes during the event. Food trucks will be parked in front of the Kingsport Farmers Market for individuals to stop and grab lunch while attending.
    The Kingsport Farmers Market is located at 308 Clinchfield St., downtown Kingsport, at the intersection of Clinchfield Street and West Center Street.
    The Kingsport Chamber is composed of two non-profit organizations:  the Kingsport Chamber Foundation (501(c)(3)) and Kingsport Chamber of Commerce (501(c)(6)).

    The Kingsport Chamber of Commerce’s mission is to utilize resources and focus efforts on enhancing a strong and viable business environment for the Kingsport area.
