• City of Kingsport Proclamation: April is Keep Kingsport Beautiful Month

    Proclamation
    Whereas, Keep Kingsport Beautiful became an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful in 1980; and,
    Whereas, Keep Kingsport Beautiful’s mission is to involve the community in responsible solutions for a clean and beautiful environment through community awareness and public education, litter reduction, waste reduction and recycling; and,
     
    Whereas, through public and private partnerships working together on projects that keep our environment clean and free of litter, we beautify our neighborhoods and public spaces and instill pride and a sense of ownership in our community; and,
    Whereas, Keep Kingsport Beautiful organizes a volunteer network of citizens, civic organizations, businesses, and industry for Clean Sweep Kingsport, a part of Keep America Beautiful’s Great American Cleanup program, the nation’s largest annual community improvement program; and,
    Whereas, the City of Kingsport supports the work of Keep Kingsport Beautiful as an important program of litter prevention, waste reduction, recycling and community beautification.
    Now, Therefore, I, John Clark, Mayor of the City of Kingsport, and on behalf of the Board of Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Kingsport, do hereby proclaim April 2018 as
     

    Keep Kingsport Beautiful Month

    in Kingsport and encourage my fellow citizens to join me and take pride in continuing to make our city beautiful, clean and free of litter.
     
    In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of Kingsport, Tennessee, to be affixed this 2nd day of April in the year of our Lord two thousand eighteen.
