American Red Cross Training Courses offered at Kingsport Aquatic Center
Kingsport, TN – If you are you interested in teaching lifeguard courses, need to be recertified or gain your lifeguard or CPR certification, you’re in luck. The Kingsport Aquatic Center is offering multiple American Red Cross training programs this winter.
Between the months of December and January the Kingsport Aquatic Center will be conducting a Lifeguard Recertification course, a Lifeguard Training course, a Lifeguard Instructor Training course and a First Aid/CPR/AED course, all American Red Cross certified.
The American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED course helps participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing and first aid emergencies. The courses in this program teach the knowledge and skills needed to give immediate care to an injured or ill person and to decide whether advanced medical care is needed. The American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED course fee is $60. The last day for registration for the course is Friday, December 15th.
The purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Training course is to train instructor candidates to teach the various American Red Cross courses and modules. Participants must have a current ARC Lifeguard Training certificate. The American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Training course is $175 for KAC and YMCA members and $200 for non-members. The last day for registration is Friday, December 22nd.
The American Red Cross Lifeguard Training course provides entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illness until emergency medical services personnel take over. The American Red Cross Lifeguard Training course fee is $175 ($75 is non-refundable if pre- test is failed). The last day to register is Sunday, December 31st.
The purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Recertification course is to provide currently certified lifeguards the ability to review the Lifeguard Training course content in a formal course setting and renew their certification for another two (2) years. The American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Recertification course fee is $85. The last day to register is Friday, January 12th.
Course dates and times are as follows:
- American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED course: December 16th, 2017, 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
- American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor course: January 2nd - 9th, 2018, 4 p.m. – 8 p.m.
- American Red Cross Lifeguard Training with CPR/AED: January 2nd- 5th, 2018, 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- American Red Cross Lifeguard Recertification course: January 13th, 2018, 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
