    Event Description:

    Barter Theatre’s inaugural “Holiday Hustle” will feature a 5-K walk/fun run, and a costume contest. Proceeds from this family and pet-friendly event will support Barter Theatre‘s programs and activities in furtherance of its mission of “Enriching Lives Through Extraordinary Theatre.” Participants of all skill levels can participate in the 5-K run/walk on Abingdon’s Creeper Trail, one of the country’s premier rail-trails. The race will be themed around Barter’s upcoming holiday production of ELF: The Musical and those who wish to can participate dressed as a character from the show. Prizes will be awarded for the top finishers in each age category, with additional prizes for the best costumes for adults, children, and pets. Come on out for a day of fun and to help support one of the nation’s oldest repertory theatres and the State Theatre of Virginia – Barter Theatre.
